 New Jersey Future Redevelopment Forum 2008 

New Jersey Future’s 2008 Redevelopment Forum will be held on Friday, February 29, at the Hyatt Hotel and Conference Center, New Brunswick. The forum is a full day of workshops targeted at local leaders, citizen activists, and professionals interested in strengthening their communities through good planning and high-quality redevelopment. Participants learn from experienced local leaders and professionals the keys to success in achieving innovative, high-quality, community-focused redevelopment projects. 

Jonathan F.P. Rose, founder of Jonathan Rose Companies LLC, will be the keynote speaker. Commissioner Joseph V. Doria, Jr., NJ Department of Community Affairs and Commissioner Lisa P.  Join the Network in lobbying your Members of Congress!

Two national allies of the Network are holding lobby days in Washington, D.C. in the near future and the Network will be there at each. National Low Income Housing Coalition is having their conference on February 25 and lobby day on Tuesday, February 26. For more information: www.nlihc.org

Ocean County Workforce Housing Summit 

Hosted by the Ocean County Department of Human Services and the Planning Department; Friday, February, 22, 2008, 9:00 AM—3:30 PM; The Ocean County Library, Toms River Branch, Mancini Hall, 101 Washington Street, Toms River, N.J.

Training the Trainer on Foreclosure Issues

New Jersey Citizen Action, Network member and ally, will hold a Train-the Trainer Session on Predatory Lending and Foreclosures on Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Newark.  The training will be held at the offices of Seton Hall Law School on the first floor Training Center in Room 74.   This session is designed specifically for housing counselors of HUD certified counseling agencies and for those in other agencies providing assistance.  Attorney trainers and professors from Seton Hall Law will conduct the session assisted by Citizen Action staff. 

Seton Hall Law School is located at One Newark Center, Newark, New Jersey.  The training will begin at 10:00 am and will end by 3:00 pm.  Lunch will be served.  There is no charge for the training. Trainees should arrive by 9:30 am for coffee and registration.  An additional training will take place in Edison on February 27 – if that is more convenient.

Regional Conference on Homelessness

The New Jersey Alliance for the Homeless will host a Regional Conference of the United States Interagency Council for the Homeless (USICH) on March 14, 2008, at the Gateway Hilton in Newark, from 9 am to 4 pm.
