This membership classification excludes any organization which is a subsidiary of or is controlled by either a governmental or profit-making entity. For this purpose, an organization shall be considered to be controlled by a government or profit-making entity if one-half or more of the seats on the Governing Board or other decision-making body of the organizations shall be held by elected or appointed officials, appointees of elected or appointed officials or representatives of the profit-making entity. All Non-Profit Housing and Community Developer Members, upon joining the Network, shall be eligible to designate a representative of the organization as a member of the Network's Board of Trustees, who is entitled to one vote in all matters pertaining to the affairs of the Network. The individual designated shall be that organization's principal representative, but when he/she is unable to attend a meeting, the organization may send another predetermined individual to represent the organization, who shall have full voting rights. Such designations shall be made in writing addressed to the Membership Coordinator of the Network. Non-Profit Housing and Community Developer Members may change their designated representative (and alternative) at any time upon written notification addressed to the Membership Coordinator of the Network. Dues are based on the organization's operating budget.
  • Associate Members are any non-profit organizations involved in other activities than those described above; any public agency, financial institution, for-profit corporation, or subsidiary thereof; and any other individual or organization supporting the mission and activities of the Network. Associate Members may attend and participate in Network meetings, but do not have voting privileges unless they have been nominated to, and elected by the Network's Board of Trustees.
