Member Spotlight is dedicated site where we feature news & upcoming events from our members. Organizations will be permitted a maximum of three events to be featured at any given time in the Member Spotlight. NJCA's 41st Annual Awards Luncheon

Founded in 1982, NJ Citizen Action combines political advocacy, electoral campaigns, public outreach, and community empowerment programs to make a real difference in the lives of everyday New Jerseyans. NJCA invites advocates, friends, partners and clients to celebrate 41 years of fighting for social, racial and economic justice for all.

Network Members Awarded Record Level of NRTC Funds
The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) have announced $21.75 million in funding awards to 27 community-based nonprofit organizations across the state through the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) Program. This is the largest amount of NRTC funding ever awarded and also the most organizations to receive funding from the annual NRTC project application cycle. Congratulations to the following members on their awards: Interfaith Neighbors; Gateway Community Action Partnership; Saint Joseph's Carpenter Society; Camden Lutheran Housing, Inc.; Parkside Business & Community in Partnership; Heart of Camden; Greater Bergen Community Action; Holly City Development Corporation; New Brunswick Tomorrow; Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen; Clinton Hill Community Action; Urban League of Essex County; Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District; HANDS; NJ Community Development Corporation; Passaic County Habitat for Humanity; Jewish Renaissance Foundation; NORWESCAP; Stand Up for Salem; and Isles.

Regional Foundation Announces $4.75 Million in Grant Awards
The Regional Foundation has announced $4,750,000 in Implementation Grants to seven organizations throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The Neighborhood Implementation Grants program supports comprehensive community development plans that target specific neighborhoods, are resident-driven, and equity focused. The multi-year funding is designed to assist the foundation’s grantee partners to start or sustain momentum in their comprehensive neighborhood revitalization initiatives. Network member Clinton Hill Community Action will receive a first-time investment of $1,000,000 in support of implementation of its Upper Clinton neighborhood plan in Newark, NJ. They will serve as the backbone agency in a collaborative model, overseeing lead partners in its six focus areas of housing, education, economic development, environmental justice, wellness and social services, and community building. Passaic County Habitat Receives Best Innovative Design Solution Award For 135 Summer Street, Passaic Project
Passaic County Habitat for Humanity’s construction team has been awarded the “Best Innovative Design Solution” award by Habitat for Humanity International for their 135 Summer Street, Passaic project. As part of its annual Habitat House Design Contest, winners demonstrate Habitat’s commitment to high-quality housing that is safe and affordable for the long term, as well as strategies that advance shelter technology toward building more and building better in recognition of responsibility to meet immense affordable housing needs in an equitable way. Congratulations to Passaic County Habitat for Humanity on this great achievement!
