Urge Gov. Murphy to Endorse Funding for Code Blue Bill & Support Emergency Assistance

SIGN ON: Urge Gov. Murphy to Endorse Funding for Code Blue Bill & Support Emergency Assistance

The Network will be sending a letter to Governor Murphy on two items to protect the State's most vulnerable residents:

  1. The State Legislature passed legislation (S2737/A4177) to allow a county to increase its homelessness trust funds by two dollars to be used for code blue emergency shelter services. We need the Governor to sign the bill into law.

  2. The Governor vetoed legislation that would overturn the current lifetime cap on Emergency Assistance (EA) benefits for the homeless and most vulnerable to allow the State to provide assistance for up to 18 months within any seven-year period. We need the Governor to work with the legislature to quickly introduce a new bill to address this issue.

If you want your organization included as an endorser of this letter, please let us know by close of business Tuesday, February 19 to OPT IN. Click here to sign on!
