The Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey (the Network) proudly congratulates Kelvin Boddy, director of healthy homes and communities for the Network, on his selection to serve on Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill’s Transition Task Force. As a key member of the Network’s senior leadership team, Boddy oversees collaborative development initiatives focused on community-driven crime prevention, healthy homes, and local advocacy and empowerment. A graduate of Rutgers University, he began his service with the Network 8 years ago as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer and has since become one of New Jersey’s leading voices on lead poisoning prevention, neighborhood safety and other social determinants of health. His appointment reflects the growing recognition of the vital role safe, healthy, and equitable communities play in New Jersey’s future. “We are thrilled that Kelvin will bring his expertise and commitment to the Governor-elect’s Transition Task Force,” said Staci Berger, president and chief executive officer of the Network. “His leadership on healthy homes and community safety has strengthened neighborhoods across the state, and we know he will be a tremendous asset in helping shape the Administration’s priorities.” “I’m grateful for the privilege to join a transition team that brings together such a wide range of experience and viewpoints,” said Boddy. “It's a reflection of the inclusive future we’re striving for in New Jersey and every voice at the table strengthens our ability to make our state a place everyone can afford to call home.” The Network also extends its congratulations to several members of its Board of Directors who have been selected to serve on the transition team:
“The inclusion of these accomplished leaders underscores the importance of affordable housing, community development, and equity in the incoming administration’s work,” Berger added. As New Jersey prepares for a new chapter, the Network has provided Governor-elect Sherrill’s team with policy recommendations to address the state’s housing affordability crisis. The Network’s HouseNJ 2025 blueprint outlines transformative strategies to expand affordable homes and strengthen communities across the Garden State.
