Originated in 1989 as the Affordable Housing Network to create more affordable homes and economic opportunities for New Jersey residents, the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey (the Network) has grown to become so much more.

Now in our 35th year and with over 270 members, our work is driven by the principle that everyone should have a safe, affordable home in a community of their choice. The Network provides exceptional public policy education and advocacy; critical technical assistance and resource development; and cutting-edge research and ideas to advance housing and community development opportunities. We are committed to ensuring racial, economic, and social justice to make NJ a place everyone can afford to call home.

A few of the Network's achievements over the last five years include:

  • Over $200M in dedicated housing investments including the
    Affordable Housing Trust Fund
  • Over $7M for COVID relief programs
  • Over $4B committed through CRA Agreements
  • $1.3M for housing counseling
  • The development of a Housing Counseling Plus Program with accompanying website as an eviction prevention tool
