AmeriCorp VISTA
The Network has a great opportunity for recent college graduates and graduate students who are interested in economic justice and strengthening NJ communities. We are hiring through the AmeriCorp VISTA program to support more than 200 member organizations who are addressing homelessness, foreclosures and evictions, childhood Lead poisoning, Tenant Rights, and other critical and emerging issues across the Community Development spectrum. Network VISTAs will provide the support and infrastructure that will build their capacity and allow them to better serve the thousands of clients that count on them for vital services.

Financial Coaching Specialist

Under the direction of the Director of Housing Outreach, the Financial Coaching Specialist is responsible for assisting our Financial Success Center (FSC) clients reach their goal(s) in learning to adopt better financial and budget choices that improve their financial status through workshops, personal instruction and counseling. They will also work alongside housing counseling staff to assist with client file maintenance to ensure client system resolutions and client file closings are completed in a timely manner. Position also requires traveling to all housing outreach service offices in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Human Resources Manager

With the support of the administrative team, the human resources manager will be responsible for building a human resources function at ICC. Responsibilities will range from ensuring legal compliance with federal and state employment law and workplace regulations to supporting the development and maintenance of a healthy organizational culture reflective of ICC’s values (empathy, mutual respect, fairness and transparency, commitment to excellence, and accountability) and longtime commitment to equity and justice. ICC values its staff members as critical to achieving its mission and is committed to their professional and personal development. The Human Resources Director is seen as key to creating an updated personnel handbook; designing an effective orientation for each new staff member that will introduce him or her to the entire organization of which they are becoming a part and familiarize them not only with the structure and activities of the organization, but also, its culture and values; re-designing and implementing an effective system of performance reviews; and creating an annual training plan and overseeing the delivery of professional training to the entire staff. ICC is looking for someone who can see what needs to be done and formulate a response to present to the administrative team.

Fair Housing Testers
NJ Citizen Action
New Jersey Citizen Action Education Fund (NJCAEF), a HUD-designated Fair Housing Agency, is hiring paid Fair Housing Testers to help make sure people are not being denied housing because of their race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability or familial status. We are hiring a diverse group of testers to investigate housing discrimination in Essex, Hudson, Union, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex, Ocean and Monmouth counties.
