AmeriCorps VISTA
The Network has a great opportunity for recent college graduates and graduate students who are interested in economic justice and strengthening NJ communities. We are hiring through the AmeriCorps VISTA program to support more than 200 member organizations who are addressing homelessness, foreclosures and evictions, childhood Lead poisoning, Tenant Rights, and other critical and emerging issues across the Community Development spectrum. Network VISTAs will provide the support and infrastructure that will build their capacity and allow them to better serve the thousands of clients that count on them for vital services.

Housing Justice Program & Policy Manager

The Environmental Justice and Community Development (EJCD) arm of ICC engages in organizing and advocacy at the local, municipal, state and national levels, addressing issues related to environment, climate, goods movement, housing and displacement, green space, infrastructure, community planning and development, community land trusts, urban agriculture and more. The Housing Justice Program and Policy Manager position would ensure that The City of Newark, and its residents, are
moving forward in an equitable manner, where all residents, regardless of income, are able to enjoy the opportunities that new development brings to the city. The best candidate for this position would be able to successfully manage staff, communicate clearly with senior staff, and be willing to work with residents in the East Ward, and the City of Newark as a whole.

HUD Housing Counselor
Paterson Community Action Taskforce
Our HUD Housing Counselor will be responsible for coordinating our HUD Housing Counseling Program. They will conduct one-on-one counseling in the areas of financial literacy (budget management, credit counseling), and housing counseling (includes homeless prevention, rental, and default/foreclosure assistance). Counselors will provide expert advice customized to the client’s individual needs in order to address housing barriers and achieve housing goals. This process includes client intake, financial and affordability analysis, and an action plan and follow-up. The position also includes administrative responsibilities such as collecting and reviewing client documents, timely client data entry/tracking, and monthly reporting.

Director of Finance

Paterson Habitat for Humanity is in search of an individual to join its team as the Director of Finance. The position has responsibility over all aspects of Paterson Habitat’s finance function and will lead a team of three in fulfilling its responsibilities. 

Financial Coach
NJ Citizen Action
The Financial Coach, with supervision and support from the program director, will provide oneon-one personal finance coaching services to low- and moderate-income individuals statewide. Coaches provide strategies and resources to help clients reach financial goals including building savings, reducing debt, and improving credit.

NJ Citizen Action
The Organizer position is a full-time position intended to help advance all aspects of the Workplace Justice Program which includes organizing, advocacy, education/outreach, and policy implementation. A large focus of the Workplace Justice Program area is coordination of the NJ Time to Care Coalition and efforts to ensure all workers have access to time to care and paid leave. We do this through advocacy and advancement of policy as well as outreach and education, and recently launched the NJ Paid Leave
Outreach Collaborative. Another key aspect of the position will be working to build program areas of leadership development and organizing caregivers and others to engage in efforts as spokespeople and storytellers. This position will provide an organizer with an opportunity to support New Jersey workers and gain valuable experience in coalition building and engaging in federal and statewide advocacy and policywork. The desired start date is  mid-May, but this may be flexible.

Senior Program Officer for Lending
Local Initiatives Support Corporation
The Greater Newark office of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) seeks a skilled individual with a deep interest in community development strengthening communities to join its staff as Senior Program Officer of Lending. The individual will be responsible for managing and expanding Greater Newark LISC’s (GNL) lending pipeline in New Jersey. While GNL’s core footprint will serve as the SPO’s initial priority, the individual will be charged with working with the Executive Director and Deputy Director to strategically build out the lending pipeline in additional target communities coinciding with GNL’s state-level expansion. This includes case by
case consideration of mission-aligned projects that fall outside of GNL’s target footprint. 

Senior Program Officer for Economic Development

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Greater Newark office of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (GN-LISC) seeks an individual with
a passion for equitable economic development and comprehensive family income & wealth-building (FIWB) for opportunity-challenged communities to join its staff as Senior Program Officer for Economic Development. In coordination with a variety of community-based, public sector, private sector, funders and internal partners, the core goals of the Senior Program Officer position are primarily twofold: (1) stabilizing and expanding GN-LISC’s Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) Program within and beyond GN-LISC’s primary footprint; and (2) leading and managing a portfolio of economic inclusion programs that are geared towards GN-LISC contributing to the economic and small business development ecosystem of its primary market. The candidate will have excellent project management, collaboration,
communication, and grants/contract management skills along with strong supervisory and staff management skills. The position requires a strong commitment to participate in the local & regional FIWB and economic systems, as well as an understanding of the broader economic development and small business ecosystem within GN-LISC’s market.
