AmeriCorp VISTA
The Network has a great opportunity for recent college graduates and graduate students who are interested in economic justice and strengthening NJ communities. We are hiring through the AmeriCorp VISTA program to support more than 200 member organizations who are addressing homelessness, foreclosures and evictions, childhood Lead poisoning, Tenant Rights, and other critical and emerging issues across the Community Development spectrum. Network VISTAs will provide the support and infrastructure that will build their capacity and allow them to better serve the thousands of clients that count on them for vital services.

Lead Case Worker (AHA-CAP)
Under the direction of the CAP/EAS Director, this position will supervise CAP staff, and ensure all CSBG programs operate efficiently.

Housing Counseling Specialist
Under the direction of the Director of Housing Outreach Department, the cross-trained Housing Counseling Specialist provides one-on-one homebuyer, reverse mortgage, mortgage default/delinquency counseling, and disaster recovery counseling. The Housing Counseling Specialist, well-educated in the fields of housing and finances, shall guide each client through the process to achieve their housing goals. The duty of the housing counselor is to ensure each client is educated in their rights, options and resources, and to encourage long-term sustainability and financial empowerment.

New Jersey Community Capital
CAPC - Asset Coordination Fellow
Community Asset Preservation Corporation (CAPC) is the first nonprofit entity equipped with the financial strength, regional reach, and real estate expertise to arrange acquisition of pools of foreclosed properties and distressed assets. The Asset Coordination Fellow will be a key support for the organization's efforts of acquiring and rehabilitating single-family homes across New Jersey.

The Waterfront Project
Foreclosure Prevention Counselor
The Waterfront Project, Inc. (WFP) is establishing a Foreclosure Prevention Project. Hudson County residents are experiencing an unprecedented loss of income due to the COVID-19 health crisis, impeding their ability to keep current with their mortgage. While a temporary statewide moratorium on foreclosures has relieved homeowners from the immediate threat of foreclosure, WFP anticipates a surge in homeowners who will need assistance to keep their homes when the moratorium is lifted. The Waterfront Project, Inc. is seeking applications for the position of Foreclosure Prevention Housing Counselor, who will provide face to face, phone or internet counseling to homeowners on the foreclosure process and lead foreclosure prevention workshops.

These disparities in recent years have gained increased national attention due to organizing around racial justice and new research showing the multigenerational impacts of housing discrimination and exclusionary zoning. Bilingual Academic Instructor
The Alternative Education Institute (AEI) is an out-of-school program designed to assist at-risk youth and young adults aged 16-25 in Middlesex County to obtain their NJ State GED/HiSET/TASC. Based on current community needs, there has been a growing increase to provide these same services to adults 25 and over. The responsibility of the Bilingual Academic Instructor for the Alternative Education Institute (AEI), is to teach basic skills in English and Spanish to students at varied academic levels.
