We are hiring through the AmeriCorps VISTA program to support more than 200 member organizations who are addressing homelessness, foreclosures and evictions, childhood Lead poisoning, Tenant Rights, and other critical and emerging issues across the Community Development spectrum. Network VISTAs will provide the support and infrastructure that will build their capacity and allow them to better serve the thousands of clients that count on them for vital services. The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless
The ECHH is in a moment of substantial growth and opportunity. New levels of NJ State funding for the homeless and housing insecure represent an opportunity for the Executive Director (ED) to meet the service and low-income housing needs of homeless people in Elizabeth and across Union County. These opportunities will better enable the ED to provide the strategic leadership to ensure that the organization achieves its mission and goals while remaining dedicated to its core pillars and values. One of the primary roles of the ED is to serve as the external face of the organization. The ED will be responsible for cultivating and forging relationships with constituents, stakeholders, government entities, donors, and supporters. It is through these relationships that the Coalition will be able to secure the necessary resources to assure that high quality programming is accompanied by financial stability.

New Jersey Future seeks an experienced communications and press manager and strategic thinker who is a skilled, organized, and motivated writer and copy editor to support the organization’s communications and marketing activities. Working within a collaborative environment, the Communications and Press Manager will create, implement, and manage program-specific and general organizational content for various audiences. This will include writing blogs, reports, newsletters, press releases, and other outreach materials. The manager will work on compelling messaging and implement inclusive language within all written communications from New Jersey Future and its programs. The manager will build and expand relationships and interface with the press and media. Familiarity with New Jersey media and existing press relations is a plus. This position will report to the Director of Development and Outreach.

Affordable Housing Resource Specialist
NJ Community Development Corporationhe specialist's responsibilities include liaising with community organizations, government agencies, and property owners to source apartments to enable clients to rent suitable housing. The responsibilities of this position include the ability to assess clients' eligibility for government-financed housing programs, including subsidies, and benefit programs, assist clients to secure and complete applications for affordable housing, identify and assist clients to obtain relevant documents needed for applications for affordable housing. The Resource Specialist will also provide individual counseling, advocacy and support to clients, develop and facilitate educational workshops and groups focused on housing (including available housing resources, apartment search techniques, mock interviews, and other best practices); develop and maintain a database of resources, including a listing of brokers, and landlords, engage in community outreach efforts to identify housing opportunities and assist clients with the search for available properties. The position requires collaboration with government agencies, community organizations, and property owners, ensuring clients understand their rights and responsibilities as tenants, while providing clients with information and referring them to additional support programs or services.
