Network Applauds Newly Signed Veterans Housing Assistance Law
Implements program providing home repairs

1/9/2018

Governor Christie has signed into law a bill that creates a pilot program to assist veterans who are disabled and low-income homeowners with home repairs. The program allocates one million dollars annually over five years. On the law, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey Staci Berger issued the following statement:

“Anyone who is a homeowner knows how inconvenient and expensive some crucial home repairs can be. A broken water heater or HVAC repairs can be detrimental for a homeowner, let alone a veteran struggling to make ends meet. We applaud the governor for signing this into law and we thank the co-sponsors of the bill and housing advocates for helping those who have served our country. Our network of non-profit community developers look forward to working with the State to help implement the law.”
