Call Your Members of Congress!

New Jersey is on the cusp of an eviction crisis, it is estimated that by January 2021, there will 280,000 evictions filings and a $1 billion -
$1.3 billion estimated rent shortfall in the state. Renters and homeowners need relief NOW!

Join us on this Thursday, November 19 for a Day of Action to urge our state and federal legislators to adopt measures that can prevent a tsunami of evictions and help keep people in their homes. Here's how you can participate:

1) Join Compassionate NJ for a Virtual Rally! Urge the State Senate to pass the People's Bill (A4034/S2340) so it can be signed into law without any further delays. During the event, you'll hear from impacted renters, homeowners and advocates. We will also contact elected officials around the state during the rally – so make sure your cell phone is charged and your Twitter account is ready!

When: Thursday, November 19, 3 p.m.

2) Call and e-mail your NJ legislators and urge their support for the People's Bill because no one should lose their home as a result of the pandemic!

3) Call your member of Congress on Thursday to demand a comprehensive coronavirus relief package with critical housing and homelessness resources and protections! Renters cannot wait for #RentReliefNow! Without federal intervention, up to 30 to 40 million renters are at risk of losing their homes this winter. Click here andhere to learn more!
