Members of the health care and community development sectors gathered to learn how to use Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs) to help create homes in collaboration with local hospitals and improve health outcomes in NJ communities on August 1 at the Trenton Masonic Temple. Over 150 attendees participated in the Network's fourth annual Healthy Communities and Homes Summit.
“The Affordable Care Act aims to improve health and reduce costs by taking a holistic approach using Community Health Needs Assessments,” said Staci Berger, president and chief executive officer of the Network. “Our members are collaborating with local hospitals to provide residents with homes that are affordable and free of dangers like lead and mold. These collaborations are creating community gardens, free health screenings, educational programs, and so much more to meet the needs of the communities these two sectors serve.” Read More
