Member Spotlight is dedicated site where we feature news & upcoming events from our members. Organizations will be permitted a maximum of three events to be featured at any given time in the Member Spotlight. 20th Annual Community Leadership Awards

On November 13th, HANDS will host our 20th Annual Community Leadership Awards: Coming Back, Looking Forward. The evening will feature appetizing food, a selection of good beer and wine, as well as a fun activity highlighting the strengths of our community and its people. This year we are inviting back all previous Community Leadership Award recipients to share their hopes and dreams for the future of the city. come support the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless and their efforts to help homeless individuals and families, and those persons who imminently face homelessness in Union County. The Designer Bag Tricky Tray features baskets filled with beautiful handbags from designers like Kate Spade, United Airline ticket vouchers, or a variety of exciting gift items, proceeds to benefit the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. Home Repair Class Series
Tuesday through November 26 | 6pm | 2801 Westfield Avenue in Camden
Saint Joseph's Carpenter Society will host a weekly series on various home repair topics every Tuesday from October 29 through November 26. Topics include plumbing basics, replacing light fixtures, electrical basics, and replacing bathroom fixtures. Participants receive free tools for attending. Read More


Bergen County United Way Celebrates "Very Special Home" with Ribbon Cutting
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last month to celebrate the completion of Wyckoff, NJ's first "Very Special Home." According to Bergen County's United Way, "Very Special Homes" are designed to bring safe, independent and affordable housing options to those with physical and developmental disabilities such as autism, multiple sclerosis or Down's syndrome.
